Marching Onward

It is the end of March already?

When did that happen??

The weather around here certainly feels like it, I'll admit. We had some actual wintery weather a few weeks ago but I think this week we hit the high 90's.  I actually breathed a sigh of relief. We survived another winter, and this one went a lot better on the mental health front in our home than the last four years. I'll take it!

Now, the physical health front? This was a brutal winter for colds and other junk. Our whole family caught some virus of misery-- it was one of those that seems to mutate over and over, so you'd have a good day, thinking that finally you were pulling out of it, and then the next day you were slammed again (sometimes with brand new symptoms).  K and I seemed to get hit the worst-- it took us six weeks to pull through it. K's grades show it-- he missed a full two weeks of school at least, and you know what? Whatever, with a big fat "W." As long as he passes all his classes so we don't have to do those stupid Edgenuity credit recovery online courses, that's all I care about. The difference between parenting my firstborn and my fourth. A lot of things that used to seem so important don't anymore. So his GPA is meh. Who cares? Not me.

It wasn't just the crappy virus that hit us. We also had stomach bugs, pink eye, and allergic reactions that spawned more experience than I ever wanted with hives. Thank goodness I am not a germ-phobic person, or I think I may have lost my mind. Even still, I was tempted to douse my house in bleach.

Terence and I were both feeling well enough to celebrate our 25th anniversary though. Woohoo! We went to the temple in the morning, hit the gym together like normal, went to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum in the afternoon, and ate a fancy seafood dinner that night, followed by a visit to our favorite gelato shop. It was a nearly perfect day, spent with my best friend. I have officially now been married longer than I was single. Kind of a crazy milestone to reach!

On the book front, thank you to all who have purchased Emerald Talisman or read it on Kindle Unlimited! It's been a thrill hearing from those who have enjoyed it! The second one is pretty much edited and ready to go, but my cover artist is currently swamped with staying alive (Makena has one of the most rebellious, contrary bodies I've ever heard of) but as soon as she can finish the cover I will get it out. Pinky promise!!
