Time Skipped
Oh, dear.
I forgot about my blog. No January or February updates, not even when Amethyst Tiara released in January!
So yes, in case you missed it, the 7th and final book in The Silver Vision series released back in January. You can check it out here, but truly, don't read it if you haven't read the rest of the series yet! It's not one of those series made up of standalone books.
What else has happened during the last couple of months? Hm. I turned 50. Yeah. No big deal, nothing to see here, move along.
Right????
Terence and I went on a hike for my birthday. It was lovely--we didn't make it quite as far as we wanted (it started to rain and we were in a canyon that can get flash floods so we turned around and headed back) but it was a beautiful trek with my best friend. I'm so glad we are both well enough to do stuff like that still!
K also had a birthday--he turned 17. I know I sound like a broken record, but how is that possible?? Only one more year and he will be an adult. It's amazing to watch him grow and spread his wings.
The other milestone was my wedding anniversary, 26 years now. We didn't plan anything exciting. In fact, we both forgot to get each other anything until the very last minute. (Has anyone else gone together to Walmart the night before their anniversary and split up to get each other something? Surely it's not just us.) But despite that we utterly enjoyed our actual anniversary day, spending almost the entirety of it together. For two people who are still very busy, we do spend a lot of time joined at the hip (and I wouldn't have it any other way).
Oh, I have an update on B also! She recently got a new job in a pre-k school for autistic kids. She went through an insane amount of training in a short amount of time and then passed her certification tests with flying colors. Since her new job location is quite a distance from here but she can't afford to rent a place yet (good grief, the apartment rates in the valley are crazy high) she lives during the work week in my parents' basement and then comes home on the weekends. She's been doing fantastic with this new stage of adulting and handling the ups-and-downs on the emotional front fairly well. I'm so proud of her!
It's Spring Break now for our school-going kids and that means it is a break for me as well. I've spent it deep cleaning my bedroom and catching up on other things that got neglected during the last two months (like my blog, hmm?). Today was an unusually quiet day for me. I was practically an empty nester! All three girls went to the Game On Expo in Phoenix, while J and K went to a stake event in the morning. Plus Terence is working the Renaissance Festival, which meant his day started early. I was extra productive with my alone time, so I even got a chunk written on my current work-in-progress. Fingers crossed I can get it finished by the end of the school year.
Hallelujah, only one more quarter of the school year to go, and then we are down to only one school again! We haven't been in that position in TEN YEARS. It's a long time to drive to multiple schools that are a fair distance from your house (and from each other)!
There we go, I think that pretty much covers the bases for an update. I'll try not to let it go so long again!
