A Day in the Life-- B

Yesterday was B's day!

Here's what her day was like:

B woke up a 6am and it felt like the middle of the night.  She did NOT want to get up.  Her mom had to help her get dressed, and then she went out to the living room couch and fell asleep again until it was time for family prayers.  This meant that she didn't really get any breakfast or her hair done, but she was still too groggy to care much.

By the time B got to school she was starting to wake up a bit.  She played with J on the swings until it was time to go into class.  In class, she took a spelling test which she did well on, even though she didn't get 100% (which was a little disappointing because she's been trying to get 100% all year and hasn't made it yet).  Snack time was a welcome break (she was starving) and she had an apple.  Her friend Aliki shared some pizza with her and that was even better!  Recess was great fun, sliding on the slides and swinging some more.  The school day ended with math lab and she had to share a computer with Julian.  But since she is a "late bird" (meaning she stays after for a little bit since she has older siblings), she got to have a computer all to herself, and she played on abcya.com.  Best part of the day!

At home she had a ton of chores to do.  It was her fourth day in row to do the dishes, since she had skipped them when it was her turn on Tuesday.  She decided it was too much work and she didn't want to do it at all.  Instead, she played with M and their toys.  Eventually, her mom called her in to have a piano lesson.  At first the lesson went well; B made silly jokes and Mom was actually smiling instead of getting impatient with her.  But then she found out that she had been practicing the wrong song all week.  Oh no!!  Her mom wanted her to play the song she was supposed to practice, and it was just too hard.  B ended up in tears, insisted that she wanted to quit piano.  Mom reminded her that if she quit, she would have to have extra chores like J.  B also remembered that she did want to be able to play the piano.  In the end she decided not to give up just yet.

Dinner was pizza while Mom taught another piano lesson.  Pizza is always one of B's favorites.  After dinner, her annoying mom reminded her that if she skipped the dishes again today she would have another three days of dishes to do.  Groaning in despair, she decided she'd better tackle at least that chore.  She spent the next hour (and a half bottle of dish soap) washing dishes and loading the dishwasher.  Eventually, she decided it was good enough, despite all the dishes on the counter.  Then, she went to watch M and J play video games.  Mom was reading a book so she got to watch them play for a long time and didn't have to bother with the rest of her chores.  (So nice when Mom is distracted and can't nag!)

Bedtime was hard.  S cried for awhile.  It was very, very late, and Mom made all the girls go to bed at the same time, instead of letting B and M stay out until S was asleep.  Once in bed, M kept wanting her to turn her Dreamlight animal off, which B just didn't want to do.  She doesn't like to sleep in the pitch black.  Eventually, she finally drifted off though, happy in the knowledge that she didn't have to get up early the next morning!
